Chicken Curry

Using our Kirk’s Curry Roux as your cooking base to make a tasty chicken curry with 100% natural ingredients. Remember Kirk’s Curry Roux can also be used to spice up and thicken any curry you are making simply by adding 15-20gm to your dish 10-15mins before serving.

Chicken Curry

  • Ingredients

    • 1 finely chopped onion
    • 150g Kirk’s Curry Roux
    • 2-3 chicken breasts cut into cubes
    • 2 cloves crushed garlic
    • 250ml warm water
    • 250ml chopped tomatoes
    • 1 bell pepper cut up finely
    • Ground white pepper, to taste

  • Preparation

    1. Put the Curry roux into a thick based pan over a low to medium heat. As the roux starts to melt add the onion.
    2. Cook the mixture at a low/medium heat for for 5-10 minutes until the onion becomes translucent. Add a tablespoon of water if required
    3. Put in the chicken and cook over a medium heat til the chicken has browned slightly
    4. Add the bell pepper and allow to soften slightly.
    5. Increase the heat and put in the tomatoes and water and stir well in.
    6. When the mixture starts to simmer reduce the heat and let it simmer on a low heat for 20 – 25 minutes.
    7. Add pepper and salt to taste.
    8. Simply add more Kirk’s Curry Roux to taste 10 mins before serving to increase the spiciness or to cool the curry down add a tablespoon or 2 of coconut cream.
